A training on improved farming
Katalemwa recognizes livelihood support is a key component in long-term rehabilitation. KCH’s economic empowerment programs are aimed at improving the socioeconomic status of CWDs and their families through skills including entrepreneurship and vocational training.
Skills include:
– Poultry and piggery farming
– Mushroom growing
– Bead and craft making
– Tailoring
– Baking
– Gardening
KCH also provides business development support, financial literacy training and in some instances start-up capital to youths and parents of CWDs.
Our Orthopedic workshop also has a component for training youth with disabilities in fabrication of simple tailor made assistive devices and this has attracted rehabilitation centers in the region to learn about appliance production and management.
